Our Story

Born in Durham. Built on referrals.

Our founder, Marcus Hale, spent eight years working for a national franchise before getting tired of the upsell scripts. He started Summit Vent with the belief that homeowners in Durham deserved straight answers, transparent pricing, and techs who actually cared about the result.

Word travels fast in a college town. Within three years we had grown to four trucks; within ten we had become the team that local property managers, real-estate inspectors, and home-performance contractors call first.

Today the team is bigger but the model is the same — owner-operated, NADCA-certified, locally accountable.

Our Standards

Four rules we hold the whole team to

Show up like we mean it

Drop cloths at every entry. Shoe covers on every tech. A pre-walk conversation before any tool comes out. The basics still matter.

Respect the customer's time

Tight arrival windows, real-time updates if we're running late, and we don't leave a job half-finished to chase the next one.

Honest scopes, written quotes

If a system doesn't need cleaning, we'll say so. When it does, we'll show you exactly what we found before we touch anything.

Train, certify, repeat

Every tech holds a current NADCA ASCS certification, and we pay for continuing education every year. Standards only matter if you keep raising them.

Credentials

The paperwork behind the work

Anyone can buy a vacuum. Credentials are how you know the operator actually knows what they're doing.

  • NADCA Member — ASCS certified techs

Air Systems Cleaning Specialist is the industry standard for residential and commercial ductwork.

  • NC Mechanical Contractor License

License #NC-MC-104328 — current and in good standing with the state board.

  • $2M general liability + workers' comp

Proof of insurance available on request before any work begins.

  • EPA Section 608 certified

Required for any HVAC hygiene work that touches refrigerant-side components.

Talk to a real Durham local.

Not a call center, not a sales script. A tech who can answer your question and tell you what's worth doing.
